On May 22, 2019, CBS Veterans Network distributed poppy seeds cards to its employees, in honor of Memorial Day. The card is a recycled, biodegradable card and is embedded with a mix of red corn poppy seeds. One would just plant the card itself and within a few weeks, the seeds will turn into poppy flowers. The poppy is an iconic symbol of our fallen heroes, and we remember the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and their families.
During this event, the CBS Veterans Network had the opportunity to meet and greet with fellow work colleagues who stopped by to pick up a poppy seed card and a breakfast treat, including executives and even some veterans! One executive who attended, Chris Simon, EVP Network Sales, CBS Network, was happy to acknowledge and “…remember all of the men and women who have served and to those who continue to serve today to protect our country. Thank you”, says Simon.
Looking ahead, CBS Veterans Network hopes to have this event every year to make sure the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform are always remembered.
