For this year's September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, Paramount VetNet joins Paramount Global & 9/11 Day for meal packing on the USS Intrepid in New York City. To help combat hunger in America, thousands of volunteers from nearly a dozen cities around the country will help pack as many as 2.5 million healthy, non-perishable meals. All meals will be donated to and distributed by local Feeding America affiliated food banks. The Veterans Network participated in the first shift from 8-10am and helped pack 175,000 meals in two hours.
“It was humbling to volunteer and be part of combating hunger in the US. It was quite extraordinary and inspiring to see the Intrepid filled with many volunteers ready to answer the call of service and remembrance for September 11” -Chris Barrett, Marine Corps Veteran
“Once again, it was truly an honor for VetNet to participate in such an important cause that will impact millions. We will never forget and will honor those we have lost, through service. Proud of our company and its volunteers.” -Betty Diaz, Paramount Veterans Network
About 9/11 Day:
9/11 Day is the nonprofit that founded and annually organizes the federally-recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance (“9/11 Day”). Their mission is to inspire Americans and others to rekindle the remarkable spirit of unity and compassion that arose in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, and to perform good deeds and other acts of service in tribute to those killed and injured, rescue and recovery personnel, and those who bravely rose in service in response to the attacks. It’s their way of keeping the promise to “Never Forget.”
