Every year on November 11th, many gather to celebrate veterans for their sacrifice and military service. This year, the SEAL Team cast, like Neil Brown Jr. and David Boreanaz, gave social media shout outs to our brave men and women who served. Among the talent was Sheryl Underwood from CBS’ The Talk, an Air Force veteran, and ViacomCBS Veterans Network Ambassador. Others included Diona Reasonover, David McCallum, Wilmer Valderrama and Brian Dietzen from NCIS.
"I come from a veteran family, so I’m immensely grateful for all the sacrifices that you have made to keep this country safe. Thank you,” said Diona Reasonover of NCIS.
In the shout out video, David Boreanaz of SEAL Team sent a special Veterans Day message to our veterans. On the show, Mr. Boreanaz plays a Navy SEAL dedicated to selfless service, and resilience; in turn, sacrificing time with his family. However, Mr. Boreanaz knows a thing or two about military families. September 2017, during the first SEAL Team premiere screening at the Intrepid Museum in New York City, David Boreanaz made it his duty before the Q & A began, to give a moment to honor and recognize Gold Star Families in the audience; “Our show SEAL Team thrives to honor your service and recognize your sacrifices. I hope our admiration for you shines through.”
We thank the cast of SEAL Team for their relentless efforts of portraying and sharing the stories of our brave men and women who have served.
“Today, the cast maintains that same humility and respect for authenticity in its veteran and military related programming,” said Tiffany Pilgrim, Veteran and Military Relations Coordinator for the ViacomCBS Veterans Network.
The new Season 4 premier of SEAL Team will air its double-episode starting Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020 at 9pm-11pm, ET/PT on CBS.
These virtual messages of acknowledgement from celebrities to veterans are an important way to publicly show support. Warm messages like these bring joy and motivation into the lives of veterans and make it clear that they are never forgotten.
Recognition is an integral part of Veterans Day, and on behalf on the ViacomCBS Veterans Network family, we want to thank our veterans for their service, and all supporters for their allyship. Together let us continue to honor our veterans returning home from service.
